Terms of use
Draft for the PLAY private alpha. Not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
PLAY lets people publish web games and play them instantly in the browser. By using PLAY you agree to these terms and to the content policy.
Accounts
You need to be at least 13 to have an account. Some games are rated for adults and are only shown to people who confirm they are 18 or older. Keep your email secure: anyone with access to it can sign in as you.
Creators
When you publish a game you confirm that you own it or have permission to publish everything in it, including art, music, code, names and characters. Making a game with PLAY Studio or its AI does not give you rights to anyone else's intellectual property. You keep ownership of your game; you give PLAY a licence to host, test, show, promote and distribute it on PLAY for as long as it is published.
Games run in an isolated sandbox. Trying to break out of it, attack players, collect their data without disclosure, or interfere with PLAY is not allowed and leads to removal and a ban.
Money
Purchases, tips and PLAY Credits are processed by PLAY's payment provider. PLAY takes a platform fee from creator sales and pays creators their share, minus processor fees and any remix royalties, subject to a short reserve period, the payout minimum, and identity checks. PLAY Credits pay for AI creation and are not refundable for cash once spent.
Enforcement
PLAY can limit, age-restrict, remove or quarantine games and restrict accounts that break these terms. You can see any action on your account on Account standing and appeal it there.
