Content policy
Draft for the PLAY private alpha. Not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
PLAY is for a general audience. Every game answers a content questionnaire and gets an age rating (everyone, teen or mature). Mature games are shown only to viewers who confirm they are adults.
Never allowed
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form. We report it to the authorities.
- Explicit sexual content and full nudity.
- Real-money gambling.
- Hate, harassment, or content that promotes violence against people or groups; terrorist or extremist propaganda.
- Instructions for serious real-world harm, and content encouraging self-harm.
- Malware, phishing, scams, crypto mining, or collecting players' personal data without disclosure.
- Content you don't have the rights to (see copyright).
How we enforce it
New releases are scanned automatically and tested in a browser. A human moderator reviews games that are reported, that grow quickly, that start taking money, or that the automatic checks flag. The AI in PLAY Studio refuses content that is never allowed.
Consequences depend on how serious a problem is: a warning, removing the game, suspending publishing or monetization for a time, or a permanent ban. There is no automatic "three strikes" rule. Every action can be appealed from Account standing.
Reporting
Every game page has a Report button. Reports are anonymous to the creator.
Social features and children
PLAY has no private messaging or chat between players. Games may not add their own chat for players under 18.
